In 2001, Chris joined C2 Consult Sdn Bhd as Project Engineer to oversee the development of CSF Computer Exchange (Malaysia’s largest purpose built Data Centre at that time) in Cyberjaya from ground-up until completion including design, project management and coordination with relevant authorities.

From 2003 to 2009, he was involved in the daily Data Centre operations, capacity planning, maintenance management, change management, development of operation, security and safety processes.

In 2007, he joined CSF Advisers Sdn Bhd on a full-time basis as Key Facilitator in the development of CX2 Computer Exchange, a GFA 321,000 ft2 largest purpose built Data Centre in ASEAN with Google as 1st tenant.

He rejoined C2 Consult in 2009 to pursue his career in Data Centre Consultancy.

In Data Centre Consultancy, Chris have been involved in program management, design, RFP and commissioning for NTT MSC, Mytelehaus, Agro Bank, KWAP, Talisman Malaysia, Hewlett Packard Malaysia, K&N Kenanga, Hong Leong Bank, Petronas/iPerintis, CSF Computer Exchanges and Bank Kerjasama Rakyat.

Qualification & Accomplishments;

Over 30 years (since 1981) in the Data Centre industry
Involved in more than 200 Data Centre Projects; design, supply, development, construction, operation and maintenance
Founder and initiator in the development of the 75,000 ft2 CSF Computer Exchange in Cyberjaya in 2001 both Technically and Commercially followed by the 321,000 ft2 CX2 in 2007.
Develop and continuous improvement on a Modular Data Centre design and services for low capex and opex in the Malaysian environment especially for Data Centre Space rental flexibility and privacy.


Ow Yong has significant qualifications and experience which has been gained in establishing large and technically complex projects and business operation.

He has been involved in the IT Industry for over 30 years, from a Computer Customer Engineer to Data Centre Infrastructure design & implementation, site relocation, sales and management including computer equipment hardware relocation, mission-critical computer application schedules.

His involvement in Data Centre began in 1981 when he joined the Liebert (now Emerson) Agent in Malaysia as Business Manager involved in the sales, marketing, design and construction of Computer Centre and its Support Systems (M&E).

In 1983 he started CSPM Sdn Bhd which was among the pioneer local established company specialising in providing data centre related services and was the Managing Director up to 1991.

In 1991 he set-up Atlas CSF Sdn Bhd specialising in data centre infrastructure and was the Managing Director until 2002.

In 2000, Ow Yong founded CSF Advisers Sdn Bhd and embarked on the 1st Carrier Neutral purpose-built Data Centre Building in Malaysia mainly designed as Internet Data Centre.

In early 2009, Mr Ow Yong completed the sale of CSF Advisers and Atlas CSF to a group of investors and left the Group to pursue his consultancy services in Data Centre.

Mr. Ow Yong is one of the foremost expert in data centre with extensive experience in the power system include brands like IPM, Liebert, Exide Electronics, Powerware, Deltec, Active Power from USA and ABB, Merlin Gerin, Fiskars, Socomec, Imunelec, Siel, Iwatec, AEES, Invertomatic, Pillar, Chloride, EPI from Europe, various batteries type and brands from USA, Europe and Asia. Computer Room Air Conditioning includes Liebert, Airedale, Denco, Airflow APC, Hirross, Atlas Air, Canatal, DataAire, Stulz. Citec, Uniflair. various monitoring systems like Darwell, Liebert, EPI, Stulz and standby diesel generators like Caterpillar, Volvo, Detroit, Perkins, Cummins...

The combination of indepth experience in Data Centre Systems and extensive track records in the design, supply, development and construction of more than two hundred (200) Data Centers in the country translates into someone with the highest credentials available in the country to oversee the design, development and construction of a major data centre project such as this.
